About Wendy

Hi, I’m Wendy Medrano,

My artwork is deeply connected to my culture, family, and the experiences that have shaped me. I am influenced by my Mexican and Salvadoran heritage, and I often use familiar images, symbols, and everyday experiences to explore ideas about identity, family, motherhood, love, and belonging.

Becoming a mother has also changed the way I think about being an artist. There is a constant balance between caring for my family and making space for my own creativity. That tension has become an important part of my work. I create from the perspective of someone who is trying to hold onto her identity as an artist while also embracing the many changes that come with motherhood.

Painting has always been a way for me to slow down, process my experiences, and make sense of the world around me. I want my work to feel personal and familiar, while also giving other people a chance to see pieces of their own stories in it.

Thank you for being here and supporting my work. Every purchase, commission, and share helps me continue making art and building a creative life alongside motherhood.
